Curated by the renowned freelance writer and curator, Saša Bogojev, CAN Ibiza identifies and invites a selection of the galleries which are at the forefront of the emerging international art scene. The lineup will allow art collectors to discover the up-and-coming talents. the fair will present the latest in contemporary art, especially in painting, with a focus on new and emerging artistic languages as well as more established artists.
Kick Off the Summer with Unique Summer Vibes
CAN returns at the slightly earlier time of late June to mark the start of the 2024 summer season on Ibiza. Start your summer at CAN Ibiza, where the fair blends the excitement of contemporary art with the laid-back Mediterranean lifestyle. With opening hours from 6 to 10pm, CAN allows for a perfect “workation,” for art collectors to enjoy the perfect combination of art in the evenings and beach time in the mornings.
Diverse and International Gallery Representation
This year features over 30 galleries from Europe, Asia, Australasia, South America, and North America, including newcomers like Galleria Continua, Xippas, Madragoa, and Moisés Pérez de Albéniz. CAN Ibiza 2024 is welcoming galleries from Canada, Portugal, and Scotland for the first time, whilst there is also an increased focus on galleries based in the Balearic Islands such as L21, Lundgren, La Bibi, Fran Reus Gallery, and Gallery Fermay from Mallorca, as well as London’s Gathering Gallery which opens a new gallery on Ibiza in May.
Exclusive Collector Program
Participate in a tailor-made agenda of exclusive events, including private dinners, studio visits, and parties. Network with collectors, artists, curators, and museum directors in a unique and intimate setting. By the way, the opening afterparty is at the iconic Pacha club.
Expanded OFF Program and Ibiza Art Week
CAN is at the heart of the emerging Ibiza Art Week. which sees local galleries, institutions and private collections organise special programming and events across the island, giving visibility to the vibrant cultural ecosystem emerging on Ibiza. As part of the returning OFF Program Faro de Ses Coves Blanques will feature the work of two Mallorcan artists: Alejandro Javaloyas, from LA BIBI, and Bartomeu Sastre, from Fran Reus Gallery. Santa Eulària des Riu Air Raid Shelter will participate for the first time with an exhibition of ceramics by Mallorcan artist Jaume Roig. Balearic artist Irene de Andrés is going to show a a conceptual work about abandoned clubs and touristification in the island in Sa Punta des Molí .
