BoteroSutra – Last Curated Exhibition by the Master
BoteroSutra is the posthumous exhibition of Colombian artist Fernando Botero, featuring never-before-seen artworks acquired by the gallery before his death on September 15, 2023. The exhibition showcases Botero’s unique style characterized by voluminous figures and exaggerated proportions in various passionate acts. It provides a rare opportunity to appreciate the genius of Botero and witness the evolution of an artist exploring volume. The display includes fourteen erotic artworks depicting couples in intimate positions, executed in oil on canvas, graphite, watercolor, marble, and bronze, highlighting Botero’s exceptional skill. The artist’s subtle approach to the subject is evident, making it his most technically complex and erotic work.

Botero once said about this erotic series, “I tried to be really subtle in my approach to the subject, and that’s why you don’t see the sex [organs] of the characters. Porn doesn’t interest me, but this is definitely my most erotic work. They are some of my most technically complex works.”
Art collector and gallery owner Gary Nader stated, “Botero’s influence on the art world will live on, and his legacy will continue to be celebrated by art enthusiasts and scholars. We are honored to have had the opportunity to showcase his work, and we will continue to do so in the years to come as a tribute to his extraordinary genius and contribution to the world of art.”
BoteroSutra exhibition is a must-see for anyone interested in contemporary art and the legacy of one of the greatest artists of the 21st century.

Rachel Valdes’s solo show, “Idilio Tropical,” features twenty oil paintings on canvas, capturing a meditative state through the painting process. Valdes uses colors from different environments to create abstract compositions that reflect her perspective on the world, emotions, and experiences. The gestural painting is both a spiritual and mental practice for Valdes, allowing viewers to collaborate in each artwork. In “Idilio Tropical,” Valdes aims to connect with her roots, portraying narratives and echoes of landscapes that serve as backdrops for stories and legends. The paintings explore the balance between the spiritual and the earthly, merging the known and unknown, establishing a link between humans and nature.
