The Spring Auctions at Poly Auction Hong Kong last week realized a total of HKD 267 million in sales, with over a 90% sell-through rate.
The two important museum-grade works were offered in this sale, namely “Berlin Barack, Room 1” by Yoshitomo Nara and “12.04.60” by Zao Wou-Ki, both achieved astounding results, reflecting art collector’s great demand and strong confidence in artworks of different types.
Yoshitomo Nara’s large-scale house installation titled “Berlin Barack, Room 1” was the highlight of the Spring Auctions and was ultimately sold for HKD 120 million — setting a new world record for the artist’s three-dimensional work and also marks the second-highest auction price by Yoshitomo Nara. Another highlight of the sale “12.04.60” by Zao Wou-Ki, also achieved a brilliant outcome with a final selling price of HKD 60 million. View full results here.
