Christie’s concluded its Asian Art Week in New York with a combined total of US$58,591,063 achieved over four days of eight sales. The top lot of the sales was the ‘Oil Spot’ Jian Tea Bowl from The Linyushanren Collection, which was sold for US$11,701,000, setting a world auction record for a Song dynasty tea bowl. The buyer is a Chinese collector according to various media. The dedicated sale of Collected in America: Chinese Ceramics from The Metropolitan Museum of Art generated huge international interest and was 100% sold.

Building on the strong start to the autumn season, Christie’s Shanghai Autumn Auctions in October and their Hong Kong sales in November will present the market with a further array of highly covetable works to inspire collectors worldwide.
In March 2017, Christie’s New York will host the sale of Important Chinese Art from the Fujita Museum. This landmark sale will include both important Chinese archaic bronzes and works of art as well as exceptional Chinese paintings.
